If Dan Henderson signs with UFC will he get an immediate title shot?

That's because UFC President Dana White isn't too keen on the idea of letting Dan Henderson walk right into his light heavyweight division and contest for the title right away.
That is, if they can come to terms on a contract, something they couldn't do two years ago.
"Hendo" is riding high on the strength of his first round knockout win over Fedor Emelianenko on July 30 just outside of Chicago, Illinois. That win, at heavyweight, mind you, gave him three consecutive knockout victories under the Strikeforce banner.
Oh and he's also the promotions light heavyweight champion.
That's apparently not enough to convince White that he's more deserving of a title shot than Rashad Evans, who hasn't fought in over a year and has a big fight on Saturday (Aug. 6) against Tito Ortiz.
Here's how "D.W." explained things to Fox Sports:

"Well the only problem with (an immediate title unification bout) is that Rashad Evans is next in line should he win this fight tomorrow night (against Tito Ortiz). So this is a big fight tomorrow night for these guys. If Rashad wins, he's next in line to get the winner of (Jon) Jones vs. Rampage (Jackson) and if Tito wins it puts him back in the top five. Dan Henderson right now, I don't know where he fits into this whole mix but I wouldn't have Dan Henderson just jump right in and get a title shot at (205-pounds). He would have to beat one of the top contenders in the UFC."

Fair or foul?
After back-to-back title losses to Quinton Jackson and Anderson Silva in his 2007 return to the UFC, Henderson reeled off three consecutive wins, including a thunderous knockout over Michael Bisping to secure what many believed to be another 185-pound title shot.
It never came.
That's because his contract had expired shortly after "The Count" did and the two sides had very different ideas as to what "Hendo's" value was.
Henderson bolted for San Jose and may, at long last, come full circle after a stellar 3-1 run with Strikeforce.
That's if they can make the numbers work and if "Dangerous" Dan is willing to accept the fact that he'll have to beat a top contender in the tough 205-pound weight class before getting another crack at the division crown.
Anyone think they can make it happen? And if so, who should Henderson be matched up against in order to earn his shot at the champion, whomever that may be?
