Dana White reveals they will be attempting to “educate the masses” when they debut on FOX

UFC President, Dana White has revealed that they will be going back to square one and educate the audience that tunes into see fights on the FOX Network, explaining it’s no good expecting a bunch of new fans to understand what armbars and triangle chokes are from word go.
Speaking via the L.A. Times, Dana said:

“We live in a bubble in our [UFC Las Vegas] offices and take it for granted people know what armbars, guillotines and triangle chokes are — nobody knows what this [stuff] means. We have to view [Fox programming] as if nobody knows anything about this sport, that people die in this cage. We’re going to educate the masses, treat it like nobody knows who we are. I think our [hardcore] audience understands that’s necessary.”
With a potential audience of 20 million people tuning into see the UFC on FOX I’m not surprised to see the Las Vegas based promotion attempt to educate the masses perhaps with a series of demonstration videos in the pre-production.
