Dana White: I would love to have Alistair Overeem in the heavyweight division

So Dana White would love to have Alistair Overeem in his heavyweight division and "The Reem's" ultimate goal is still to become UFC champion.
Sounds like a match made in heaven, right?
Wrong ... at least for the time being. That's thanks to the suddenly contentious nature of the relationship between Zuffa, parent company of the UFC and the big wigs cutting the checks, and Golden Glory, Overeem's management team.
On The MMA Show, White broke it down:

"Yes, I would love to have Alistair Overeem in the heavyweight division. If we can come to a deal and we can make this happen and we can pay Alistair Overeem his check when he fights and he can pay Golden Glory, then absolutely we can do a deal."

As it stands now, at least according to the UFC President, Golden Glory wants to be paid directly at which point they will disperse funds to their fighters, instead of the other way around.
But that won't fly as long as they're dealing with Zuffa, as evidenced by the mass exodus of every fighter associated with the management group, including Overeem, who was Strikeforce heavyweight champion at the time.
Can they work out a deal and get the number three ranked heavyweight in the land inside the Octagon? We'll have to stay tuned on that one, Maniacs.
In the meantime, White discussed much more with Mauro Ranallo, including yet another heated debate on Fedor Emelianenko and his place in MMA history. I know, I know, it's been done to death but things get tense between White and Ranallo and it's certainly worth a watch.
