A lightweight battle has been added to the upcoming UFC on Versus 6 event scheduled for Oct. 1 in Washington D.C., as Shane Roller will take on 155-pound debutant TJ Grant.
The promotion announced the bout earlier tonight on its official website.
Surely you remember Roller. He's the guy that Melvin Guillard just turned into minced meat on July 2 at UFC 132. Many felt that the Bixby, Okla. native wasn't quite ready for that jump in competition but his track record was solid.
Leading into that fight, Roller had best Jamie Varner (winning "Submission of the Night" in the process) and Thiago Tavares (winning "Knockout of the Night" in the process).
Unfortunately, track records don't play defense and against Guillard, his was nonexistent. The UFC is all about second chances, though, and he gets his in the nation's capital.

T.J. Grant will be making his debut in the lightweight division after an up-and-down campaign at welterweight.
Despite his lack of a black belt, the Canadian went on a tear through the regional scene in his native land, piling up savvy submissions at a sickening pace.
That all stopped when he made it to the big show, however, and he's since seen five of his six Octagon bout goes to decision. He's also been riding out a streak of "win-one, lose-one." Well, he lost his last fight, so maybe that's a good sign for this one?
Or maybe not.
UFC on Versus 6 will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight that features champion Dominick Cruz trying to "Dominate" the division's mightiest mouse, Demetrious Johnson.
Other match ups currently set for the Oct. 1 card include a welterweight war between Anthony Johnson andCharlie Brenneman, as well as a long awaited rematch that pits Mac Danzig vs. Matt Wiman.
