The news was announced by the UFC just hours ago via it’s official website. Matyushenko had been plan D to replace Phil Davis in the main event of the evening.
Hamill is coming off a respectable unanimous decision win over former champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Prior to that he’d notched wins over the likes of Keith Jardine and Tito Ortiz.
As for Gustaffson, he rebounded from his first and only career loss to Phil Davis by picking up back-to-back submission wins. Seven of his first nine career wins came via knockout.
