UFC 132 – Carlos Condit looking to become champion ahead of Kim showdown, not make friends

UFC welterweight contender, Carlos Condit has been giving his thoughts on his UFC 132 clash with Dong Hyun Kim this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as saying that he’s in the sport to become champion not make friends so watch out Georges St. Pierre.
Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Condit said:
“If I can put an impressive win together against Kim, you know finish him, which I intend to do, I think that makes a great case for giving me the title shot. Kim is a pretty monumental task and that’s really what I’m focusing on right now.”
“For me, I focus on getting better that day really. If I have somebody of that caliber there training with me, I try to take full advantage. Try to learn and improve. I think at this level we all realize that come fight night if we ever did get matched up, it really is anybody’s fight. Everybody is dangerous, everybody has a lot of tools, and I think it really is who shows up that night.”
“I’m not going to sit here and say that it’s not going to be tough to fight someone who I consider a friend and a teammate, cause it is. But we’re here to become champions, right? We’re not here to make friends.”
Condit is coming off a very impressive first round knockout win over former title contender, Dan Hardy, as well as a last gasp win over Canadian prospect, Rory MacDonald on hostile territory. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
