UFC on Versus 4 – Tyson griffin squeaks home with a tight unanimous decision win over Manny Gamburyan

Xtreme Couture trained Tyson Griffin picked up a narrow unanimous decision win over “Ultimate Fighter” season five runner-up, Manny Gamburyan on the UFC on Versus 4 preliminary card tonight in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with one judge scoring the fight a draw.
Griffin pumps the jamb before Gamburyan flurries in. Griffin with the big leg kick, and another. Nice leg kick from Gamburyan lands before circling away. Griffin lands with a leg kick once again before Gamburyan takes him down to the ground. Griffin gets back to the feet but he eats a knee before looking for a takedown of his own up against the fence. Nice left hook lands from Griffin in the clinch before Gamburyan tosses him to the ground and takes his back. Griffin stands with Gamburyan on his back before shaking him off. Griffin puts Gamburyan up against the fence and looks for the takedown but he can’t get it. The two exchange knees before Griffin lands a big kick on the bell. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Gamburyan.
Griffin starts the second with a big leg kick before digging another. Gamburyan is looking to time Griffin coming in and land a big shot. Gamburyan with a low kick as Griffin stalks him. Griffin with a series of leg kicks begin to land before sprawling nicely. Another leg kick from Griffin. Griffin stuffs the takedown after landing the kick again. Nice left hook from Griffin but its blocked. Low blow from Griffin results in a timeout. The two recommence with Griffin targeting the lead leg of his opponent. Nice right hand from Griffin lands as the two flurry in. Another low blow from Griffin results in a timeout. The fight restarts but the buzzer soon sounds. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Griffin.
Gamburyan is swinging for the fences early and shoots for a takedown but telegraphs it. Griffin pushes him to the canvas but he scrambles back to the feet. Nice body shot from Griffin lands followed by the low kick. Griffin with the clinch up against the fence but he slips and Gamburyan scores a partial takedown. He gets back to his feet but not for long. Griffin back to his feet again as Gamburyan pushes him up against the fence. Griffin wriggles free and takes his back but Gamburyan gets back up. Griffin stays on him looking for the takedown and lands a series of knees up against the fence. Gamburyan answers. The two separate and Griffin looks for the leg kick again. Manny catches the leg but Griffin stays standing and the two duel up against the fence. Griffin with a series of sprawls before Gamburyan gets a late takedown. MMABay scores the round 10-9 Gamburyan. The judges scored the bout 29-28, 29-28, 29-29 in favour of Griffin.
