Ringside 11: is set for the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City on June 4th. Former UFC middleweight contender Patrick Cote will headline and former NHL enforcer Donald Brashear will be making his MMA debut.
Following the success of Ringside 10, which was held at the Bell Centre in Montreal on April 9th, the promotion is once again dedicated to bringing hard hitting MMA to its fans.
Cote has stated his intentions of a UFC return and has used Ringside MMA to showcase his talents. At Ringside 10, he defeated former UFC fighter Kalib Starnes by way of a unanimous decision in his promotional debut. That victory snapped a three fight losing skid for the popular Cote that saw him released from the UFC. As he works towards another shot at a Zuffa organization, Ringside MMA has become a welcome venue for him to keep his skills sharp while facing quality talent in front of fans who see him as one of Canada’s favorite MMA sons.
At Ringside 11, he will face the tough Todd Brown, who also saw time with the UFC. He last saw action in a 1st round TKO (retirement) loss against Igor Pokrajac at UFC Live 3 in March. This is a must win for both fighters as they will battle in the main event.
Another interesting addition to the promotion will be the debut of former NHL enforcer Donald Brashear as he faces Martin Trempe. The 39 year old Brashear forged a NHL career between 1993 and 2010 that saw him become one of the most feared and respected tough guys on the ice. He now hopes that his success will transition to the cage and has chosen Ringside MMA as his venue.
Also on the card will be a matchup between Dimitri Waardenburg and Stephane Pelletier for the first ever Ringside bantamweight championship bout.
Pelletier is 4-0 under the Ringside banner and last saw action in a 1st round armbar submission over Mikael Pellerin in March at Ringside MMA: Rising Star 2. Waardenburg has also seen previous action for Ringside and is riding a five fight win streak that last saw him defeat Remi Morvan by unanimous decision at a Wreck MMA event in January.
The fight card:
Patrick “The Predator” Cote (13-7) vs. Todd “Bulldog” Brown (15-3)
Dimitri Waardenburgh (7-4) vs. Stephane Pelletier (4-1)
Martin Trempe (0-2) vs. Donald Brashear
Kevin Morin (4-3) vs. David Lafond (1-1)
Justin “The Gusto” Doyon (2-6) vs. Dany Lafamme (2-5)
Maxime Leger vs. Keven Trembley (0-1)
Scott Hudson vs. Alexandre Arsenault
Daniel Ireland vs. Francis Charbonneau
Gregory Carpenter (0-3) vs. Jerome Martin
