Sources close to the situation revealed the news to MMAJunkie.com earlier today, although it’s unclear whether the winner will pick up the vacant welterweight title.
Daley is coming off a disappointing first round knockout loss to the champion, Nick Diaz earlier this year, coming close to winning the fight and the title himself before getting stopped late on in the fight.
Woodley is one of the front runners for a shot at the recently vacated Strikeforce welterweight title after Nick Diaz jumped ship to challenge UFC champion, Georges St. Pierre later this year. He is currently undefeated at 8-0 overall.
