Bellator 48 – Ricco Rodriguez vs. Seth Petruzelli set for August 20th at the Mohegan Sun

It has today been announced that former UFC heavyweight champion, Ricco Rodriguez has been signed to go head-to-head with another former octagon fighter, Seth Petruzelli at Bellator 48 on August 20^th at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The upstart promotion made the announcement earlier today and it is widely expected that the winner will punch their ticket to be involved in the forthcoming light heavyweight tournament.
Rodriguez, who’s record stands at 46-11, was trying to engineer himself a way back to the UFC before signing with Bellator and has put together an impressive eleven fight winning streak on the local circuit including a unanimous decision win over James McSweeney at BAMMA 5 earlier this year.
Petruzelli, best known for shocking the world with a first round knockout of “Kimbo Slice”, was recently cut from the UFC’s roster for a second time. He will be looking to build on an April win over unknown, David Mewborn.
