Matt Mitrione accepts Christian Morecraft is big but he’s used to dealing with bigger

UFC heavyweight prospect, Matt Mitrione has been giving his thoughts on facing fellow monster, Christian Morecraft this weekend on the UFC on Versus 4 card in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, admitting the man he’ll be facing is certainly big but he’s used to dealing with much bigger from his days in the NFL.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Mitrione said
“You have to remember my old career was in the NFL. It’s funny. A lot of times you hear, ‘Oh, he’s so big.’ But Morecraft is a normal-sized human being to me. I’m used to people that are 6-foot-8 and 335 pounds. So a 6-foot-5, 270-pounder? OK.”
“I mean, Cole Konrad is over there. Hell, he ate a Volkswagen for breakfast. I have a lot of confidence in myself, especially when it comes to athletics and the mental side of anything. I’ve always felt like that. I wouldn’t have gotten into [MMA] if I didn’t.”
Mitrione is undefeated at 4-0 in his mixed martial arts career after defeating fellow reality show stars, Marcus Jones and “Kimbo Slice” and fellow sluggers, Joey Beltran and Tim Hague. The win over Beltran also earned him the “Fight of the Night” bonus. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
