Matt Brown says showdown with John Howard will be the fight of his life

UFC welterweight veteran, Matt Brown has been giving his final thoughts on his UFC on Versus 4 main card showdown with heavy hitter, John Howard this Sunday night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, explaining this is the fight of his life as he knows one more slip will see him axed from the promotions ranks.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com Brown said:
“I know what it’s like to be released. I thought I was released. I was 100 percent under the impression I had been released. ‘I’ve got to find something else to do. I’m no longer in the UFC. I need to work my way back. Whatever.’
“I’ve already been there. I’ve seen the worst. I think having that in the back of my head is a relief a little bit. I know what it feels like already. So this is a second chance. I’m looking at this fight like it’s my first fight in the UFC. This is my first and last fight. I look at Sunday like it’s the last night of my life. This is it. This is the biggest fight of my life. This is all that matters for the rest of my life.”
“There is a sense of calmness. I’m at my peace with myself. All fighters, all we ever do is fight, fight, train, fight, fight, train, fight. That becomes you. That’s all you are. Now I’m a father. I own a home. I’ve grown up a lot. I’ve come to realize my self worth is not based on whether or not I lose fights. I’m comfortable with myself with whatever happens.”
Brown will be looking to get back to winning ways after a trio of defeats to Ricardo Almeida, Chris Lytle and Brian Foster. Earlier wins against the likes of “Ultimate Fighter” season nine winner, James Wilks seem a distant memory for the man known as “The Immortal”.
