Jorge Gurgel vs Joe Duarte to headline Strikeforce Challengers 18 on Aug. 12

UFC veteran Jorge Gurgel will look to string together back-to-back wins for the first time in four years when he collides with The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 alum Joe Duarte in the Strikeforce: "Challengers 18" main event at "The Palms" in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Aug. 12, 2011.
"J.G.," an accomplished Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt who rarely leverages his biggest strength in fights, most recently defeated Billy Vaughan via submission (guillotine choke) at Strikeforce: "Feijao vs. Henderson" back on March 5, 2011.
It marked his first such win since 2005.
Gurgel recently steered himself out of a two-fight losing skid, which included one win in five fights, dropping slugfests to K.J. Noons and Billy Evangelista, respectively.
Duarte, meanwhile, has reeled off four straight victories, competing under the Native Fighting Championship and Strikeforce banners. In fact, the Guam native has been extra busy in the 12 months, taking five fights and winning the aforementioned four.
