Brazilian welterweight brawler Evangelista Santos has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming slugfest opposite Paul Daley at the Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Henderson" event on July 30 in Hoffman Estates, IL.
MMA Prime reports that "Cyborg" has suffered a shoulder injury while training and will be unable to compete.
Santos (18-14) was last seen with his arm being pretzeled by Strikeforce exile Nick Diaz back in January. The Chute Box product went toe-to-toe with former champion (and held his own) before succumbing to a second-round armbar.
The loss snapped a two-fight win streak and may have put the kibosh on the promotion's plans to announce a successor to Diaz, who high-tailed it out of San Jose to test his might against UFC 170-pound champion Georges St. Pierre.
That leaves Paul Daley without a date to the big dance.

The last time "Semtex" was in the cage, he too was getting abused by Diaz, following what can only be described as one of the craziest opening rounds in promotion history, swinging for the fences against the foul-mouthed fight monger.
Unfortunately, it was Diaz that hit the home run, knocking Daley out to retain his welterweight title. But now that he's vacated said title for greener pastures in Las Vegas, the British boxer may indeed get another shot at the crown.
But against who?
Fortunately Strikeforce still has time to find a suitable replacement. Anyone come to mind? Fantasy matchmakers, let's hear your pick.
