They're gonna do it! I'm talking of course about Danny Castillo and Jacob Volkmann, who find themselves on opposing sides for the upcoming UFC on Versus 5 event on Aug. 4 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The promotion announced the bout earlier today.
Castillo (11-3) made his transition to the UFC a successful one, dominating 155-pound stalwart Joe Stevenson en route to a unanimous decision win at UFC on Versus 3 back in March.
In his "Last Call" with the WEC, the Team Alpha Male fighter put Will Kerr to sleep with a first round knockout and is currently riding a three-fight win streak.
When he isn't fighting bad backs or President Obama, Volkmann (12-2) is mixing it up inside the Octagon. The chiropractor ruined "Christmas" (and New Year's) for Antonio McKee back at UFC 125.
His unanimous decision win over "Mandingo" was his third straight after debuting to a pair of losses, but Volkmann has yet to secure a finish in any of his three UFC victories.
Can he break that streak against Castillo?
UFC on Versus 5 is expected to feature a bevy or marquee match-ups including Dan Hardy vs. Chris Lytle, Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson and Stephan Bonnar vs. Karlos Vemola.
