UFC 129 results: Was José Aldo sick during fight against Mark Hominick in Toronto?

UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo successfully defended his title against 145-pound number one contender Mark Hominick in the co-main event at UFC 129: "St. Pierre vs. Shields" last Saturday night in Toronto, Canada.
So why all the hubbub?
Well, for one thing, an early stoppage is almost expected when you coast into a championship bout as a -600 favorite. Plus there was all that talk about Aldo's place among the sport's pound-for-pound elite.
So how did a talented but over-matched fighter like Mark Hominick take "Junior" to a decision -- and nearly finish him off in the fifth and final frame?
Despite the Brazilian's insistence that he was healthy for the first time in years, his performance in Ontario, while still dominant, began to fade as the rounds wore on. In fact, by round five, he was so completely spent he could barley defend from his back while "The Machine" rained down blow-after-blow to close out the fight.
It was a jarring sight from an athlete who considers himself one of the division's top jiu-jitsu fighters.

Aldo also lit up the message boards when word came out of the "Super 7" presentation that "Scarface" nearly collapsed backstage from feeling dizzy and light-headed. Was it just a bad weight cut? Or was he suffering from an undisclosed illness?
MMAmania.com reader "fafefifofo" has more:
José Aldo may have been ill before and during his fight against Hominick. After the bout, he argued with his coach (in Portuguese) that he should have taken some antibiotics before the fight.
His coach answered (while putting the shirt on him): "The antibiotics wouldn't have helped! You're the fucking champion man! Fuck the antibiotics! You fought well, smooth and composed."
All this happened before his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
Antibiotics?
To his credit, Aldo made no excuses for his performance and never alluded to a bad weight cut or possible illness. He conceded that perhaps he was a bit too muscular for this bout but never indicated his health was in jeopardy.
