KSW 16 – James Thompson proves brawn isn’t everything as he submits Mariusz Pudzianowski in the second round

UK heavyweight veteran, James Thompson proved a point tonight while competing on the KSW 16 card in Poland, defeating Mariusz Pudzianowski in the second with a submission, effectively ending the career of the former world’s strongest man.
Both men were tentative in the opening round but Thompson was able to use his length to keep the fight standing as much as possible and land a few nice shots. Pudzianowski aimed a few of his trademark wild low kicks at the Brit but they were largely ineffective.
In the second the pair locked up again but this time it was the Brit who got the better of things, winding up in top position and slapping on an arm triangle choke, submitting the big man much to the displeasure of the partisan crowd in attendance.
