It appears the return of Gina Carano on June 18th is finally set after the female mixed martial arts star agreed to face Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu artist, Sarah D’Alelio in Dallas, Texas. The news was revealed by MMAFighting.com who confirmed it with sources close to the situation.
Carano hasn’t been seen since she lost to women’s middleweight champion, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos back in August 2009. She has instead been busy furthering her movie career including shooting this summers upcoming film, Haywire.
D’Alelio enters the cage with a 4-1 record and having lost last time out to Julie Kedzie at Jackson’s MMA Series 3 in December last year. Based on that the choice of opponent would seem to be a strange one, although Strikeforce are known for putting together lopsided fights to give their stars a push.
