UFC in Rio – Vitor Belfort awaiting word from the powers that be over who he’ll face on August 28th

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Vitor Belfort has revealed that he’s waiting for word from Lorenzo Fertitta over who he’ll face on the UFC in Rio card set for August 28th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Speaking via Tatame Magazine Belfort said:
“Lorenzo (Fertitta) called me and said he’s trying to find me an opponent, but it’s hard to do it. Wanderlei (Silva) challenged me and then started talking thing on the internet, so I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I’m ready, my dream is to fight at UFC Rio. I believe the fighters found out that I’m hungrier than ever to fight.”
Belfort will now await word from the UFC over who he will face next inside the octagon, a berth originally expected to be filled by Wanderlei Silva before he got his wish of fighting Chris Leben at UFC 132 on July 2nd. Stay tuned to MMABay in the coming weeks for news on this and more as we get it.
