Gina Carano vs. Sarah D’Alelio in the works for June 18th Strikeforce show in Dallas, Texas

It appears the identity of Gina Carano’s opponent for her June 18th come back fight inside the Strikeforce cage has finally been revealed today after news broke that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu artist, Sarah D’Alelio will step up to the plate.
The news was broken over the weekend by Non Stop MMA with the Bleacher Report later confirming it with sources close to the situation.
Carano hasn’t been seen since she lost to women’s middleweight champion, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos back in August 2009. She has instead been busy furthering her movie career including shooting this summers upcoming film, Haywire.
D’Alelio enters the cage with a 4-1 record and having lost last time out to Julie Kedzie at Jackson’s MMA Series 3 in December last year. Based on that the choice of opponent would seem to be a strange one, although Strikeforce are known for putting together lopsided fights to give their stars a push.
