UFC Fight Night 24: "Nogueira vs. Davis" from the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $55,000 each, which was a record for a Fight Night Spike TV event.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's leaving the "Emerald City" with a second sack of simoleons.
Johny Hendricks earned his "Knockout of the Night" bonus by giving the fans who showed up to the arena early a show, viciously knocking out T.J. Waldburger just over a minute into their bout, which was contested on the preliminary card -- one of only three fights that didn't make the air tonight.
Also hauling in a wheelbarrow full of cash is Chan Sung Jung, who twisted his revenge out of Leonard Garcia and received a hefty "Submission of the Night" bonus to go with it. Not a bad night for "The Korean Zombie," who was right on the cusp of unemployment, having come in with two losses in a row.
His performance tonight was one hell of a way to get back in the proverbial mix.
Finally, Michael McDonald and Edwin Figueroa took home the coveted "Fight of the Night" bonus for their thrilling back-and-forth war of attrition that saw "Mayday" bring home a unanimous decision victory after numerous near finishes and an exhilarating race to the finish.
Not a bad way for both fighters to make their respective Octagon debuts, and on short notice for Figueroa. His bathing in bills ought to help ease the pain of his defeat.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC Fight Night 24:
Knockout of the Night -- Johny HendricksAgain, each fighter received $55,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
Submission of the Night -- Chan Sung Jung
Fight of the Night -- Michael McDonald vs. Edwin Figueroa
