And his manager Ken Pavia informs MMA Fighting the Indiana firefighter may turn the "Lights Out" on his career after losing "Down Under:"
"He's considering his options, and retirement is one of them. He'll never use [his recent knee injury] as an excuse, and the reason he tried to keep this quiet is because he wants to make sure that (Brian) Ebersole gets all the credit in the world for his win, and for livening up the fight."
Longtime UFC veteran Chris Lytle may have seen his last run as a welterweight contender after falling to Brian Ebersole via unanimous decision on Feb. 26 in Sydney. But was his recent knee surgery to blame for coming up short at UFC 127? Or does Lytle just have too many miles on his tires to keep himself atop the list of potential title threats? Either way, the 36-year-old workhorse may be hanging up his saddle for good, unless another 170-pound match-up exists that fans want to see. Fantasy matchmakers, make the call.
