Former UFC fighter James Irvin, currently embroiled in a steroid scandal with the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), jumped on a Polish payday by agreeing to fight Mamed Khalidov in the main event of Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) 15 last Saturday night (March 19) at Towar Hall in Warsaw.
Unfortunately the change in scenery did little to change his luck.
"The Sandman" was armbarred in just 33 seconds, dropping the troubled fighter to a record of 2-5 over his last seven bouts. He was originally booked to rematch Houston Alexander under the Shark Fights banner until the CSAC popped him for drug abuse.
Khalidov improves to 22-4-2 with the first round submission victory.
Also picking up his second consecutive win was UFC and Strikeforce veteran Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. The Cameroonian blasted Jan Blachowicz into retirement by the end of the second round.
But that's not all.
