K.J. Noons and Jorge Masvidal could replace Shinya Aoki and Tatsuya Kawajiri on April 9th Strikeforce card

It has today been revealed that California based MMA promotion, Strikeforce could turn to lightweights, K.J. Noons and Jorge Masvidal if Japanese earthquake victims Shinya Aoki and Tatsuya Kawajiri can’t make their respective match-up’s on the April 9th show in San Jose, California.
Kawajiri is due to get a 155 pound title shot against Gilbert Melendez and could now be replaced by Noons if he is forced to pull out, while Aoki is slated to face powerhouse wrestler, Lyle Beerbohm, who could end up going head to head with Masvidal.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Noons said:
“A couple of days ago the card was full. There was no TV room left. But now because of all the bad news that happened in Japan, I don’t know the status of Kawajiri and Aoki. So I’m just training. I might be back on the card. I’m not on it officially yet.”
Masvidal was shelved following his three round unanimous decision win over Billy Evangelista by an indefinite medical suspension although a source close to the situation revealed the hand injury isn’t as bad as first thought and he could get clearance if required. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this situation as we get it.
