Hendricks replaces Hallman, faces Waldburger at UFC Fight Night 24

For the second time today, UFC Fight Night 24 has a new participant.

UFC executives today announced that Johny Hendricks is replacing an injured Dennis Hallman and will face T.J. Waldburger (13-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on the evening's preliminary card.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported Hallman's withdrawal earlier today.

"Dennis Hallman is out of UFC Fight Night March 26 with a knee injury," UFC president Dana White stated in the official release. "Powerful wrestler Johny Hendricks has verbally agreed to replace him against submission specialist T.J. Waldburger in a preliminary fight."

UFC Fight Night 24 takes place March 26 at KeyArena in Seattle and airs live on Spike TV. A light-heavyweight tilt between Phil Davis and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira headlines the card.

Earlier today, James Wilks was named as a replacement opponent for Amir Sadollah, who was originally expected to face Duane "Bang" Ludwig."

Hendricks looks to rebound from a disappointing unanimous-decision loss to Rick Story at this past December's The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale. Prior to the defeat, the two-time Division I wrestling champion had racked up nine-straight wins to open his career, including four octagon wins and two victories under the WEC banner.

Meanwhile, Texas native Waldburger most recently made a successful debut inside the octagon with a unanimous-decision win over fellow newcomer David Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 23. The win extended his current streak to four fights, which included Shark Fights victories over veterans Shannon Ritch and Pat Healy. He also owns past wins over UFC vets Pete Spratt and Brian Foster.
