UFC welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre has been speaking about the situation between Greg Jackson trained light heavyweights, Jon Jones and Rashad Evans, explaining it’s an awkward situation for everyone concerned.Speaking via SBNation.com, St. Pierre said:
“It’s a pretty weird situation right now. I was in Albuquerque not too long ago and both guys were there. And unfortunately Rashad got hurt and I was there when it happened. I don’t know what to say. Me, I would not fight a friend but it happens sometimes that I have two friends that are fighting each other. It’s kind of an awkward situation.”
Jones is set to take on Evans late in the summer months on a yet to be announced Pay-Per-View card. How will Evans former team mates in Albuquerque react when they’re asked to help prepare the newly crowned champion?
