DREAM lightweight champion, Shinya Aoki and DREAM featherweight champion, Hiroyuki Takaya are reportedly set to appear on the recently announced April 9th Strikeforce card, likely to go down somewhere in the state of California.
A source close to the situation revealed the news to MMAWeekly.com late on Tuesday night, however there is no word as yet on who these top Japanese fighters will be squaring off against.
Both fighters were last in action on the year-end Dynamite!! card, a night which ended very differently for the pair. Takaya defeated then 145 pound champion, Bibiano Fernandes for the title in the main event while a round of showboating and questionable tactics resulted in a sickening knockout for Aoki at the start of the second round, courtesy of the knee of Yuichiro Nagashima. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this situation as it develops.
