Brandon Vera is back in the UFC

"The Truth" hurts?
Not anymore. Probably because UFC President Dana White today confirmed with Ariel Helwani that Brandon Vera is officially back in the promotion's light heavyweight division.
Vera received a broken nose and his Zuffa pink slip after Thiago Silva manhandled him en route to a lopsided unanimous decision loss (his third straight) at UFC 125 back on New Year's Day.
The Brazilian was rewarded with a future fight against Quinton Jackson until his drug test results from the Jan. 1 pay-per-view were flagged for "additional processing," scrapping the "Rampage" fight and putting his UFC future on hold.
While he waits for a "Resolution" to his urinalysis, Vera is hoping to eventually host his welcome back party.
"I remember thinking during the fight, ‘Yo, I gotta start lifting weights again.' He was one of, if not the strongest dudes I ever rolled with in my life ... There's stuff I want to say about you, Thiago. You know, I'm glad you were happy winning the way you were. It's cool, man. It's cool. If this thing comes back and you did do whatever you did and I make it back to the UFC, on your welcoming back party, I want to make sure I'm the one you get to fight. And I promise if you take me down, I'm going to get back up. Then I'm going to punish you on the feet just like I did while we were fighting, until you took me down. Then you gave it to me, but you won't take me down next fight. So I'm glad you got to showboat. I'm glad you got to win, kind of. But I'm gonna see you again soon, bud."
Brandon Vera is back. But for how long? While the talented striker has, at times, shown flashes of greatness the bottom line is he's still staring down the barrel of a three-fight losing streak.
He'll get another shot inside the Octagon, but if you're UFC matchmaker Joe Silva, who gets first crack at the former heavyweight?
Let's hear your take on this news Maniacs. Are you glad "The Truth" is back? And who do you want to see him fight first? Thiago Silva rematch? Someone else?
