Rashad Evans: I wanted 'Rampage' rematch at UFC 130 -- but the UFC didn't want to put that fight together

"I wanted it. I was gonna do it for May. When I heard Thiago (Silva) was out I was like 'Alright, I'll fight Rampage again,' but then they put Matt Hamill in there. They didn't want to put that fight together for whatever reason. I would have found a way. I woulda gave it a go. I've been doing some pretty aggressive treatment on my knee and I was thinkin' I was gonna be ready."

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans tells Larry Pepe on tonight's edition of Pro MMA Radio that he wanted to rematch Quinton Jackson at UFC 130 on May 28 in Las Vegas as soon as he heard that Brazilian butt-kicker Thiago Silva was forced to withdraw from the "Edgar vs. Maynard 3" pay-per-view card. Fans had speculated that perhaps "Suga's" knee was to blame for the bout failing to materialize but the former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 2 champ says he would have found a way to be ready for "Rampage." Anyone care to guess why the UFC opted to pass on this high-stakes rematch?
