The Ultimate Fighting Championship will visit the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas for February's highly-anticipated UFC 126 event, and the organization apparently won't take long to book a return trip.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned that the UFC is planning to book the same venue for a July 2 event, which could possibly serve as UFC 132.
Additionally, the UFC's first U.S.-based UFC Fan Expo of 2011 is also targeted for Sin City's Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
At this past October's UFC Fan Expo London 2010, UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta first revealed the company's intentions to hold a July 2011 event in its home city.
The planned event would mark the third time since 2006 that the UFC has hosted a show in Las Vegas on July Fourth weekend. Additionally, the UFC hosted its historic UFC 100 card on July 11, 2009, and the company visited Sacramento, Calif., on July 7, 2007, for UFC 73.
Prior to 2006, the UFC hadn't held a U.S.-based card in the month of July since UFC 21 in 1999, but the events have quickly become an expected tradition, similar to the promotion's annual Super Bowl cards in Las Vegas.
The Mandalay Bay Convention Center has also hosted two previous UFC Fan Expos, including the first-ever expo in conjunction with UFC 100, as well as another in May 2010 in association with UFC 114.
