UFC 126 – Forrest Griffin thinks his size and reach advantage will play a major part in getting his hand raised

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Forrest Griffin has been giving his thoughts on his upcoming showdown with another former champion of the octagon, Rich Franklin, a fight set for UFC 126 on February 5th in Las Vegas, explaining his size and reach advantage will play a major part in getting his hand raised on the night.
Speaking via the Daily Star, Griffin said:
“I like his wrestling. When Henderson and [Okami] tried to do that to Rich he was actually pretty good. Maybe if I can’t hang with him on the feet I’ll push him into the cage and rough him up, grind on him, land some knees. I’m bigger than both of those guys but I’m not better than them. He’s a little quicker than me and it will make a difference. Fortunately I have a little reach on him and I’m bigger than him. I don’t have a problem with guys who are quicker than me, or longer than me, but if they are both quicker and longer than me then I tend to have trouble.”
Griffin, formerly the light heavyweight champion, lost his crown to Rashad Evans in December 2008 before getting destroyed by Anderson Silva eight months later. He returned to the octagon in November where he scored a split decision win over Tito Ortiz but has been shelved through injury ever since.
