A lightweight bout between heavy hitting Lyle Beerbohm and the always tricky Pat Healy is reportedly going down on the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers 14 event on February 18th at a yet to be disclosed location.
A source close to the situation revealed the news to MMAFighting.com earlier today, with verbal agreements reportedly in place on both sides.
Beerbohm is currently 16-0 in his MMA career having defeated Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro and Ray Perales since joining the Strikeforce promotion, making him one to watch for 2011.
As for Healy, he’s coming off a spirited performance against former champion, Josh Thomson, a fight that saw him give his all before being submitted late in the third round. Prior to that he’d won his last three-fights straight.
Also expected to make his return to the cage is son of UFC legend, Randy Couture, Ryan Couture. He was set to be involved in the Strikeforce Challengers 12 card in November only to withdraw due to a staph infection. His opponent is undetermined at this time.
