Cage Warriors 60: adds Barnes v Karski

CWFC middleweight Leeroy Barnes (pictured) will return to action at Cage Warriors 60.
He’ll take on highly-touted Polish prospect Kacper Karski on the main card of this Saturday’s event at The Forum in Kentish Town, London, England.
Despite the late announcement of the bout, Barnes had been scheduled to feature at CWFC 60 as far back as six weeks ago, but the withdrawal of three verbally-agreed opponents left the 29-year-old Englishman without a contracted bout until the eleventh hour, as Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan explains.

“Leeroy was on this card from day-one but unfortunately each opponent we had lined up for him fell through,” said Boylan.
“But due to the hard work of our matchmaker Ian Dean, we’ve managed to find a good opponent for Leeroy. Better late than never, and I’m expecting this to be a very interesting fight.”

Barnes (12-11-0-1nc), who has taken all 12 of his wins inside the distance – 10 of which have come via submission – signed exclusively with CWFC earlier this year and had his first outing on his new contract against Norman Paraisy.
In spite of an impressive display, Barnes just came up short, finding himself on the wrong side of a unanimous decision against the veteran Frenchman at Cage Warriors 57 in Liverpool in July.

“I’ve had to deal with a few opponents pulling out on me for this show but Cage Warriors have worked hard to find me a high-level opponent, to keep me active and getting paid. I’m looking forward to putting on an exciting fight for the fans in London,” said Barnes.

Karski (4-1), a team-mate of CWFC veteran and recently-signed UFC lightweight Piotr Hallmann, has built up a good reputation on the continent since making his professional debut just two-and-a-half years ago, submitting three of his four defeated opponents.
The well-rounded 24-year-old’s only loss to date came against Mateusz Ostrowski in May of last year, but Karski avenged that defeat this past April with an impressive display in a unanimous decision triumph over Ostrowski.

Karski said: “I’m looking forward to fighting on Cage Warriors against an experienced opponent. It will be a good challenge but it’s one I’m excited about.”
