Cage Warriors 49: Rosi Sexton v Sheila Gaff

A NEW champion will be crowned at Cage Warriors 49 in Cardiff on October 27. With the vacant title at stake, Cage Warriors Fighting Championship can confirm that Rosi Sexton and Sheila Gaff will clash in the final of the CWFC women’s flyweight tournament in the Welsh capital. Cage Warriors 49, which takes place at St David’s Hall,

will be the organisation’s first ever show in Wales. A whole host of huge fights will be announced in the coming weeks. Sexton (13-2-0) and Gaff (10-4-1), who currently occupy the top two places in the women’s world flyweight rankings, were both impressive in their respective semi-final meetings earlier this year, winning in very contrasting fashions. Gaff, a 22-year-old German, had a controversial 10-second KO victory over Jennifer Maia at CWFC Fight Night 4 in Dubai back in March, while Sexton defeated Aisling Daly by unanimous decision at June’s Cage Warriors 47 in Dublin. 35-year-old Sexton, who hails from Manchester in England, has lost just twice in her professional career - to Zoila Gurgel and Gina Carano - and has a 6-0 record on Cage Warriors.

Gaff is on a three-fight win streak and has secured all 10 of her wins by first-round KO, one of which saw her overcome Aisling Daly after just 90 seconds at Cage Warriors 41 in London last year. Cage Warriors can confirm, however, that this bout is subject to both fighters passing a pre-fight drug-screening procedure conducted by the Volunteer Anti-Doping Association (VADA). This procedure has been arranged independently of Cage Warriors Fighting Championship by both fighters.
