BAMMA 10 card Finalised

Europe’s leading Mixed MartialArts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announcethe finalised fight card for BAMMA 10, with late replacements making two compellingnew bouts. The event takes place at London Wembley on 15th September and is to be live televised on5*, with the highlights to be broadcast on Channel 5. Internationally,BAMMA 10 will be broadcast live on HDNet (AXS TV) in the US, The Fight Networkin Canada, Esporta in Brazil, Red Media in Russia, Setanta in Africa and TDN inLatin America.

Following aninjury to Carl Noon, UK legend Matt Ewin (22-12-0) is now set to face undefeatedupcomer, Luke Barnatt (5-0-0), who comes fresh off a first round victory lastweekend against Matteo Piran (8-8-0). Ewin brings experience spanning ten yearsagainst top names and marks a big step up for the Tsunami fighter as his toughesttest yet.  Ewin is coming off a threefight losing streak, last being defeated by Leeroy Barnes at BAMMA 9 afterstepping in at a matter of days’ notice. This intriguing Middleweight match looks to flesh out into a captivating bout:  Will Ewin see a return to form against arising talent who is impossible to train for? Or will Luke Barnatt live up tohis ambitions and prove himself in the next echelon of the sport?

Matt Ewin said:

“I've had a greatcamp for this fight. I’m feeling confident in my prep for it even though the opponenthas changed. It's going to be a far more technical fight than with Noon. He'sgot good stand up and very, very long range. He's definitely going to be a namein the future but not right now; and this isn't going to be a good fight forhim. I know what they're expecting from the fight but I've got a few morethings for them this time. I'm definitely not done yet!”

Luke Barnatt said:

“Taking Matt Ewinon in 11 days’ notice is surprising to most people….Even BAMMA thought my coachwas punishing me for something, but I don't see it as a step up in class. Ibelieve the only way to be a top fighter is by testing yourself against the topand I see it as finally fighting someone at my level. Ewin is a top UKmiddleweight and I see myself as one too, so I jumped at the opportunity tofight him. Everyone keeps telling me Matt Ewin has fought the Who's Who of MMA.Well, I fought last weekend and beat atop European Middleweight in 4 minutes and next weekend I'm going to try to dothe same in front of a packed BAMMA crowd at Wembley.  Then, he'll have Luke “Bigslow” Barnatt to addto his list.”

A second injuryreplacement sees Jack 'Mad' Magee step into Warren Kees’s shoes to face TomBreese. Breese is one of the UK’s most exciting Welterweight prospects.Standing undefeated with a Pro record of 4-0-0 on BAMMA , and an Amateur recordof 8-00, Breese has stopped all his opponents before the third round largelyvia Submission. Renowned for a formidable ground game, Breese has recently beenhoning his stand up skills and now comes with fierce striking arsenal.  New opponent, Jack Magee, is a first round Submissionspecialist fighting out of Gracie Fusion with a record of 7-4-0-1 and wins viaan array of methods. This changes the landscape of the fight for Breese who waslooking to withstand a striking barrage from Kees. Fans can expect a show oftechnical prowess when this fight hits the ground.

Jack Magee said:

“I feel greatabout the fight. I don’t know too much about my opponent, but I’ve heard he is atough fighter who likes both stand up and ground work; and so do I, so itshould be a sexy fight. It’s a pleasure to fight on BAMMA and it was a goodfeeling to have such a big show call me up. So, thanks to all who got thisfight on.”

Tom Breese said:

"My opponentchange is of no concern to me. Regardless of him, my original guy or not, theresult will be the same. I respect anyone who takes a fight on such shortnotice and I thank Jack Magee for doing so, but in doing so he believes he is inwith a chance of beating me. He thinks he has something others have not and Idon’t like that. I don’t like that one bit and I will dispatch him and show himthat it was not his greatest decision."

BAMMA’s VP ofTalent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“I’m excited aboutboth these fights. Luke is taking a very tough fight with Ewin but his team believeshe has what it takes to make the step up and to be competing at the next level. The Breese vs. Magee fight brings Tom back to fighting in his strongest area, but with an opponent that can really challenge him using his own medicine andwith longer experience.  I expect boththese fights to be compelling.”
