A bantamweight clash between a couple of veteran’s on the ropes has been announced for the UFC 135 card on September 24th in Denver, Colorado as Cole Escovedo returns to the octagon to face former WEC title contender, Takeya Mizugaki. The Las Vegas based promotion made the announcement earlier today meaning both men have likely put pen to paper on their official bout agreements.
Escovedo made his octagon debut back in May but soon had his momentum stopped by another impressive promotional debutant in Renan Barao, losing the fight via unanimous decision.
Mizugaki also needs a win heading into this one after coming up short last time out against former WEC champion, Brian Bowles. His record under the Zuffa banner is 3-4 after alternating between wins and losses.
