Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Herman said:
“Team Quest has been great, I love it out here. To work out with Dan (Henderson), whose skill set is pretty awesome, and just having good coaches, I’m focused on things I never focused on. I’m starting to look like I know what I’m doing for once; that’s kind of nice.”
“If your goal is only to make it (to the UFC), maybe you need to set the bar a little higher. Some people are happy with that, they’re just like ‘hey, I made it here,’ but I need some money so I can retire, not gonna fight forever.”
“They asked me if I wanted a chance to fight on the main card against a tougher guy and I couldn’t really miss the opportunity. It doesn’t really make a difference for me. For me, my game plan’s probably still going to be about the same, which is the lack of a game plan usually. I don’t really think much of it, just go out there have fun, do what I do and hope for the best.”
Herman has amassed an impressive 20-2 record over the years, with the majority of his wins coming in the very first round. A long drawn out legal battle with Bellator saw him take a considerable amount of time out before returning to great effect at the back end of 2010. Stay tuned to MMABay for all the pre and post-fight reaction from Vancouver as we get it.
