Hector Lombard vs. Jesse Taylor likely to headline August 27th AFC event in Melbourne, Australia

A middleweight bout between Bellator FC champion, Hector Lombard and “Ultimate Fighter” season seven bad boy, Jesse Taylor is reportedly in the offing for a forthcoming Australian Fighting Championship event expected for August 27th in Melbourne, Australia.
Sources close to the negotiations revealed the news to MMAJunkie.com earlier today, adding Lombard had received permission from the American based promotion to begin talks.
Lombard was recently seen in action at Bellator 44 where he knocked out Falaniko Vitale in a non-title bout. The pair got off to a slow start, circling each other for two rounds, before Lombard lowered a crushing right hand in the third round to end the fight.
Taylor is currently riding an impressive five-fight winning streak and may be hopeful of a return to the big-time if he can defeat Lombard in this one. He most recently defeated former UFC and PRIDE fighter, Dennis Kang as well as holding a win over former UFC middleweight champion, Murilo Bustamante.
