Clovis, NM. – Evolution Combat Sports Championship, a fast-rising New Mexico based mixed martial arts fight organization, officially announced today that Rafael "Barata" Freitas will face Josh "The Destroya" Montoya in the main event at "FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS! 05.27.11."
The highly anticipated event will take place on Friday May 27, at the Clovis Civic Center in Clovis, New Mexico.
According to Martin Singleterry, president of Evolution Combat Sports Championship, "We are very excited about the main event match-up between Freitas and Montoya. MMA fans can expect an exciting night of fights complete with explosive knockouts and impressive submissions at the Clovis Civic Center on May 27!"

The main event features a high octane 125lb bout between New Mexico’s own Rafael "Barata" Freitas and Josh "The Destroya" Montoya.
In true Evolution fashion, the FNF undercard will feature some the Southwest’s top amateur talent.
Rafael "Barata" Freitas (3-0) of Brasilia, Brazil, is undefeated in his mixed martial arts career. The Gi and No-Gi World Champion Gracie black belt is also a Professor at Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Known for his dynamic fight style, Freitas is fast, technical, aggressive and tough as nails both mentally and physically.
Although all of his wins have come by way of submission, Freitas comes from a stand up background and is just as comfortable, and impressive, on his feet. Freitas thrives on the element of surprise and often uses techniques that his opponents have never experienced before.
Fans are in for a treat on May 27 when Freitas enters the Evolution cage. Spectators can expect a dynamic and exciting fight, as Freitas will do whatever it takes to finish the fight.
Freitas opponent, Josh "The Destroya" Montoya (6-4) is a King of The Cage veteran who is also known for finishing his opponents by way of submission.
Montoya has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with in the mixed martial arts arena and is determined to hand Freitas the first loss of his career at FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS! 5.27.11. Montoya is coming off of a first round submission victory over Donnie Frye and plans to go undefeated in 2011.
