Speaking via Tatame Magazine, Nogueira said:
“The bout will be a good one, Rich is a guy who likes the stand-up game. He’s skilled, left-handed, a former champion a he has a big name. It’s a pretty interesting matchup.”
“I’ll train Boxing for a while with (Luis Carlos) Dorea in Bahia. I’ll do sparrings with professional athletes and train Muay Thai with Anderson (Silva), who’ll help me a lot due to the fact he’s also a left-handed guy.”
Nogueira’s torrid time continued inside the octagon just last month when he came up short against rookie Phil Davis on the UFC on Versus 3 card. Prior to that he’d been smothered on route to a loss to Ryan Bader and squeaked past Jason Brilz via split decision.
