Speaking via ESPN.co.uk Jackson said:
“If Matt Hamill thinks I’ll take him lightly, he’s mistaken this time. My coach won’t let me take my opponents lightly. I like to finish people. I want a devastating finish. I’m a fighter in the true sense of the words Ultimate Fighter. I have the fighter’s spirit, and I’m not afraid to do anything. I’m not afraid to fight anybody.”
“Matt Hamill knows what he’s gonna do in the fight. I’m pretty sure he’s got some great gameplan. He basically wants to take me down. He’s already said I can’t stop his takedowns, so he’s already telling me something right there. I’m gonna try to do to Matt Hamill what I try to do to all my opponents: Whoop his ass. There’s not one doubt in my mind that I can whoop Matt Hamill.”
Jackson rebounded from a unanimous decision loss to Evans back in May when he defeated another former champion in Lyoto Machida at UFC 121 in October. Jackson was due to return to the octagon to battle Thiago Silva but as we reported in the previous story a failed drugs test has ruled him out.
