Isaac De Jesus loses spot at Tachi Palace Fights 10 due to marijuana suspension

Isaac De Jesus' loss is Joe Soto's gain.

As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) previously reported, the ex-Bellator champ took De Jesus' spot in a fight with Eddie Yagin at Tachi Palace Fights 10, which takes place Aug. 4.

The reason Soto got the call is because De Jesus (10-3 MMA, 2-2 TPF) tested positive for marijuana following his most recent appearance at Tachi Palace Fights 9.

CSAC representative Sarah Waklee confirmed that De Jesus is suspended six months and was fined $500. He will be clear to fight Nov. 6 of this year.

It's a disappointing turn for De Jesus, a Stockton, Calif. native who had reversed a two-fight slide with a win over Russ Miura at the May 6 event. (The CSAC does not yet have the ability to change results of fights following administrative suspensions.)

De Jesus holds notable career wins over "The Ultimate Fighter 12" semifinalist Nam Phan and Strikeforce vet Ashe Bowman.

Soto, who won the first-ever Bellator featherweight title by running the field in the promotion's first 145-pound tournament, gained clearance from the CSAC to fight once again after a detached retina threatened his career this past year.
