MMABay can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that UK based team, the Wolfslair MMA Academy have made an enquiry to the UFC over Chael Sonnen’s availability to fight inside the octagon in the coming months, meaning a possible fight with Michael Bisping just took a major step forward.
A source inside the camp revealed the news to MMABay over the weekend, adding UFC President, Dana White was waiting to hear whether the outspoken middleweight had been successful in reapplying for his licence in both the states of California and Nevada before making any decision on a possible fight.
Another interesting titbit is that Sonnen may encounter serious opposition from the Nevada State Athletic Commission when it comes to his licence after pointing the finger at their executive director, Keith Kizer during his hearing over taking banned substances. He maintained he had told Kizer previously what he was taking, something Kizer denied, which has lead the commission to consider a disrepute charge against the fighter.
Meanwhile Sonnen has been attempting to get under the skin of Bisping, labelling his “Michael Spitsbing” following his UFC 127 incident involving Jorge Rivera and his camp and claiming the UK fighter owes him an apology as he is his superior and the only man that will prevent the UFC from axing him. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this situation as we get it.
