Rafael Feijao's one year suspension upheld by CSAC after appeal is denied

Former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante appeared before the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) earlier today in an attempt to plead his case and get his one year suspension tossed.

Despite a lengthy meeting between "Feijao," his manager Ed Soares and his legal representation which included a question and answer session and testimony from key parties, the commission unanimous voted to deny the Brazilian's appeal and uphold his suspension. The Blackhouse fighter's defense consisted of an accusation that the chain of custody of his sample had been grossly mishandled. He even argued that the cup for his urine sample had been reused from a prior test. Cavalcante also denied having ever taken steroids.
