How Did you get started in MMA?
Bas Rutten actually, thai boxing was during off and Mma picked up so Bas pointed me in the correct direction.
What advice would you give to someone looking to start out in the sport?
Wrestling is the first art they should Learn.
After reading your twitter for a few years I've read on numerous occasions you train UFC. Obviously this just shows that UFC is the dominant brand in the MMA market how have things changed from when you first got into the sport?
The business aspect has changed a lot. It's just that, a business. But, of course, it's my Passion and I love training,learning and teaching.
For the people who don't know can you tell us about your relationship with Bas Rutten and how he has trained you and still has a direct impact on your training with his 02 trainer?
Bas and I don't train together as much as I would like. He is very busy and I live in Colorado and have my own gym and family do traveling sometimes can be a challenge. His O2 trainer is freaking crazy tho, love hate that thing!
So your fighting on 20th January against Josh Neer how has the training been leading up to this fight and have you worked on anything extra for any holes you see in his game.?
When I train, it's to get better in MMA and not so much to game plan for a specific opponent because the opponent can still change so I focus on what I can control and That is me. Overall training has been good. I have a really good group of people around me in all aspects of Mma.
Where do you see the fight going? and how do you think it will end?
The fight will be a stand up scrap. He always comes to fight and is such a gamer. He and I are a lot alike and will be a great show.
In you last few fights you have been the underdog. i for one was shocked about this especially when some reporters said other striking was better than yours?
do you ever read any of the bullshit that gets wrote about you and your opponents?
No, I do not read these reports. Again, I focus on what I can control and that is me. I know who I am and what Im good at and what I need to work on. When someone places me as an underdog for "X" fight, just shows there perspective. I don't fight to please people, I fight for my own self development And realization. I'm here to find out who Duane Ludwig is. Make a Lil $, support my family and help people.
Do you ever feel like some people write you off too early? and need to educate themselves on who you are and your history in combat sports?
Like I said, I don't read or listen to these reports. People can say what they like but peoples comments only show there mental state.
Obviously your a well known family man and often thank them after a win in the cage. how do they find it having a husband and a dad as a Ultimate fighter?
My daughter is 5 now and she knows i fight and train all kinds of ufc but she doesn't really understand it all yet. I'm still figuring this game out or myself. Haha. My wife tho, she knows what's going on but she keeps quiet or she will get it! J/k!!! I joke i joke! Fighting is a blessing because I have a lot of free time to be around my wife and children and we get to travel together quit a bit so that's amazing to me. Of course my wife freaks out come fight time but Other then that, she accepts it and knows it's my passion and she likes it. I was training when we met and we have been together for 15years so its just part of our life.
Like a lot of fighters have recently you have moved away from long time sponsor TapouT could you talk about how this came about?
Dan Hardy said it wasn't what it used to be and doesn't stand for the same thing anymore would you agree with that? Oh ya man, or sure, that goes back to the whole business side of things changing and companies being bought out and money sharks coming in to cash in on the Mma craze. TapouT sold which may or may not have been part of the original business plan but i doubt TapouT would have sold if Mask was still alive. It just went from some crazy fans selling gear for the love of the sport to a crazy rich guy stepping in to make a dollar.

Your known for always having the up most respect for your opponents what do you think to fighters who Trash talk and come across disrespectful at times?
It's a great thing for the simple fact that is sells fights. It's not my style but I enjoy listening and watching it sometimes.
For anyone who has ever watched the TapouT series you are in it when they come to get Donald COWBOY Cerrone, what do you think of his fast rise since becoming a UFC fighter?
It's a great thing and well deserved as he has proven to rise to the occasion each time. If you can make the wave last, keep it.
Everyone knows the your obsessed by Round5 figures and have a massive collection. how does it feel to finally know you will be made into a figure yourself? and when can we the fans get hold of your figure?
I think in may this year 2012 my figure will be out. Yes, I have a freaking Ton of round 5 figures. I love those things. I had limited toys as a child so for me to have a toy of a person i personally Know is very cool to me.
