Universally recognized as one of the top lightweights in the world, Varner (18-6-1) is not only a dynamic striker, but has slick submission skills as well. Varner has built a reputation for finishing fights throughout his career. In 18 victories, ‘C-4′ has finished 12 opponents in the first round. Only two of his wins came from the judge's scorecards.
Varner made a statement in his debut at XFC 14 with a convincing win over up-and-coming prospect Nate Jolly. It only took 69 seconds for Varner to end Jolly's night, as he rained down vicious ground and pound, to show the world that he was still a force to be reckoned with in the lightweight division.
Now, with his new XFC contract in his back pocket, Varner is thrilled to be part of the XFC's official roster. "Honestly I've never been treated as good or felt as appreciated as when I fought for the XFC in October," said Varner. "I am very thankful that they giving me another opportunity. Mr. Prisco and the XFC made me want to fight again!"
And John Prisco, the President of the XFC, is thrilled to have Varner under contract. "This is a big acquisition for the XFC," explained Prisco. "Jamie Varner is one of the best 155ers in the world and I'm thrilled to have him in our lightweight division. I know he is going to give us some spectacular fights, just like he did at XFC 14. We are still working on the opponent, but Jamie will make his next appearance for us at ‘High Stakes' in February."
