Cage Warriors: Norman Parke v Brad Wheeler

BRAD WHEELER will face one of the toughest challenges of his professional career to date on February 18, 2012 when he takes on highly-rated Irishman Norman Parke in a lightweight clash at Cage Warriors 45 at London's HMV Forum.

Parke (15-2-0) has suffered just one loss - to Joseph Duffy in March 2010 - in his last 16 bouts and will be making his debut on a Cage Warriors card.

The 23-year-old from Antrim is vastly experienced, despite his youth, and his only other loss came at the hands of Greg Loughran on his professional debut over five years ago.

Excluding his controversial disqualification against Ian Entwistle in April, Wheeler, who fights out of the MMA Clinic in Romford, is currently on a five-fight winning streak, as is Parke.

"I'm really excited about this match-up," said Cage Warriors matchmaker Ian Dean.

"I've been wanting to get Norman Parke on Cage Warriors for a while now as I've followed his career for some time and have seen him fight live on a few occasions.

"On the other hand, Wheeler has been nothing but impressive in his Cage Warriors performances and has really raised his game over the past year, despite being only 21.

"Both guys have a reputation for being skilful, technical fighters who are well versed in all areas, but they also have a track record of finishing fights, with 14 of Parke's 15 wins coming inside the distance.  All seven of Wheeler's wins have come by way of submission.

"Both fighters are also young and are looking to really make a name for themselves in the sport. They've already fought solid opposition, with their respective losses coming against quality opponents.

"I think this bout re-enforces the fact that when you fight on the Cage Warriors main card, there are no easy fights and I'm looking forward to a great display of MMA action when they both meet in February."
