Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen II at UFC 142

The much anticipated middleweight title rematch between current champion, Anderson Silva and now number one contender, Chael Sonnen could happen as early as UFC 142 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on January 14th, 2012.

“Ever since Brazilian TV network Globo – the biggest in the country – won its bid to broadcast the UFC and another installment of the event was confirmed for January 14 in Rio, a lot has been going on behind the scenes and pressure for the rematch to take place has been great.”

News on whether this fight will happen could come as early as next week after UFC President, Dana White revealed he was meeting with Silva’s management team over the UFC 137 weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
