ONE FC results: Yoshida outlasts Baroni, Folayang bests Kwon

Eleven-year veteran Phil Baroni (14-14) fell to just 1-4 in his past five outings after suffering a unanimous-decision loss to four-time UFC fighter Yoshiyuki Yoshida (13-6).

The bout, which took place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, served as the co-feature of Saturday's inaugural ONE Fighting Championship event.

Yoshida took the fight to the floor early and often, and a tiring Baroni never found room to land one of his trademark looping hooks, leading all three judges to lend a unanimous-decision to "Zenko."

Baroni's best moments came in the third round, when a guillotine choke appeared to have the potential to end the fight in come-from-behind fashion. However, Baroni could not secure guard underneath his opponent and was unable to earn the tapout.

ONE Fighting Championship was judged on a whole-fight basis, but traditional scoring would have certainly seen Yoshida claim all three rounds of the 15-minute affair. A frustrated Baroni initially refused to acknowledge Yoshida's post-fight embrace, but a healthy boo from the crowd caused the "New York Bad Ass" to reconsider.

In the night's main event Filipino lightweight Edward Folayang (10-1) bested gritty South Korean A Sol Kwan (17-7) via unanimous decision. The two went back-and-forth for 15 minutes in an intense standup affair, and while Kwan did some damage, including an apparent broken nose, it was Folayang's overall work that earned the nod in the featured bout.

In additional notable action, highly-touted prospect Gregor Gracie (6-1) earned a unanimous-decision victory over Seok Mo Kim (2-2). Gracie was dominant from the opening bell, but Kim showed incredible flexibility and grit in escaping seemingly endless submission attempts throughout the matchup.

Also on the card, "The Ultimate Fighter 5" veteran Andy Wang (7-8-1) fought through an early eyepoke from Brazilian prospect Zorobabel Moreira (5-1), only to be devastated in the second round. An elbow sent Wang crashing to the canvas before a series of brutal knees forced the stoppage.
