M-1: 'We have already reached the necessary agreements on Fedor's next fight in Russia'

Former PRIDE Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko, who was relieved of his Strikeforce duties following a technical knockout loss to Dan Henderson back on July 30 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, isn't hanging up the gloves just yet.

In fact, the former WAMMA-jamma is already booked to throw hands against an opponent to be named in his native Russia later this year, the first time he's competed in the Motherland since breaking "The Law" in a 2007 laugher in St. Petersburg.

Vadim Finkelstein:

"Fedor is going to fight in late fall in Russia, we have already reached all the necessary agreements on his fight."

A date, venue and opponent are expected to be announced shortly.

After amassing one of the most impressive career resumes in the history of organized fighting, Emelianenko suffered a three-fight losing streak by tapping to Fabricio Werdum, having the doctor save him from Antonio Silva and then going limp at the hands of "Hendo."

"The Last Emperor" was no longer welcome in the Strikeforce promotion following his most recent defeat and despite his existing contract with the Showtime network, will likely remain overseas following rumors of a year-end fight in Japan following his attempt at Russian redemption.
